I have a question for you.
✨ What does it mean to be truly nourished—both physically and spiritually? ✨
Let’s start with the physical side. Imagine this: you’ve just finished a big meal. It was delicious—comfort food, rich in carbs, fats, sugar. It hit the spot in the moment. But shortly after, you’re sluggish. Bloated. Foggy. Unmotivated.
That one “treat” turned into a nap on the couch and a heap of guilt. Sound familiar?
We all know that what we put into our bodies matters. But what we often forget is that what we feed ourselves spiritually matters just as much—if not more.
Is It Nourishment or Just Temporary Satisfaction?
We live in a world where convenience is king. Fast food, quick fixes, and instant gratification are the norm. But here’s the truth:

Some things feel good in the moment but leave long-term damage—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Poor nutrition can lead to:

But proper, intentional nourishment—through whole foods, clean water, rest, and movement—produces strength, clarity, and endurance.
When we feed our bodies well, we feel better and we want to do better. 💪🏾 Whether it’s taking your kids to the park or going for a walk with a friend, health fuels the lifestyle we’re praying for.
And just like our physical bodies respond to what we consume… our spirits do too.
Feeding Your Spirit is Essential, Too
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
— Matthew 4:4
This verse is more than a memory scripture—it’s a nutrition plan for your soul. 🙏🏾
Think of it this way:
Just like your body craves what you feed it, your spirit responds to what you pour in.
When you nourish your spirit with prayer, worship, Scripture, and Christ-centered community, something shifts. You don’t just feel more grounded—you are more grounded.
Spiritual nourishment strengthens your ability to:
Hear God clearly
Walk in peace instead of anxiety
Resist temptation
Cultivate wisdom and discernment
Respond with grace instead of irritation
But neglect? Neglect will lead to a soul-starved life—one where you're running on empty spiritually, even if everything looks okay on the outside.
Signs of a Malnourished Spirit (and Body)
Here are some warning signs that you're spiritually or physically malnourished:
🚫 Persistent anxiety or fear
🚫 Irritability and mood swings
🚫 Sluggishness or brain fog
🚫 Lack of motivation or desire for spiritual things
🚫 Disconnection from your purpose
Sis, these are your dashboard warning lights. They’re not signs of failure—they’re signs that it's time for a refill. It’s not about shame. It’s about alignment.
